Players should select set of rules from the sheet provided in the form of stickers which they should place on the empty boxes of the game board.
Once the rules are selected, every player must affirm: 'I live by these rules, and I obey them now. The synthesis of externally imposed and internally adopted rules leads to higher adherence and enhanced compliance. Third-party rules are met with defiance, while self-imposed rules are met with compliance.
The wisdom game is a simple twist on Snakes and Ladders: performing good actions lead to reward (earn you a ladder to climb higher) and bad action lead to hazards (land you a snake and setback). Think of this as a game of 'Virtue and Vice'—a snakes and ladders format where virtuous actions lead to celebratory leaps up the board, and lapses in performance result in a slide down to punishment.
In a daily road journey and or journey of life you have to keep going and if you do better, you get a reward in the form of a ladder to go up and if you do wrong you get a penalty in the form of a snake that reminds you to stop and back off and correct yourself by taking corrective action.
Affirming action transforms your inner reality, which naturally manifests in the outer world. As your input shapes your output, seeking outer change without inner transformation is pure madness.
Rules of Wisdom Game
- Objective: Be the first player to land exactly on the final square (100) to become the "Road Safety Champion."
- Setup: Place all counters near Square 1.
- Breathing: Before rolling take 2 deep breath (deep inhale and exhale)
- First turn: Roll the dice to decide turn order (highest goes first). Players turn comes in a clockwise direction.
- Affirmation: Before rolling, affirm your action -- For ladder "I see a potential reward and am seizing this opportunity to roll a [state the target number]" or For a snake "I see a potential hazard and am navigating it to roll a [state the target number]." Or I am maintaining a safe passage to roll a (state the target number). For snake and ladder both -- "I see a potential reward and hazard and am seeking to roll a (state the target number). Unannounced rolls are invalid, and the turn will be forfeited.
- Timing: The target number represents the seconds of dedicated focus required to handle the situation before moving toward the next challenge.
- Turn Actions: Roll the dice and move your counter forward according to the number shown.
- The "6" Rule: Rolling a 6 earns you another turn immediately after you complete your movement.
- Ladders (Good Practices): Landing at the bottom of a ladder means you have performed a safe action (e.g., "Used the zebra crossing"). Move your counter to the top of the ladder.
- Snakes (Hazards): Landing on the head of a snake means you have committed an unsafe act (e.g., "Texted while driving"). You will slide down to the bottom of that snake.
- Educational Quiz System (At Ladders/Snakes): When a player lands on a ladder’s base or a snake’s head, another player must draw a card to ask a road safety question and a second card to identify a road sign.
- Correct Answer: The player moves up the ladder OR stays safe at the snake's head (avoids sliding).
- Incorrect Answer: The player cannot move up the ladder OR must slide down the snake.
- Final Round Rule: If your counter lands on a snake’s head while in the final stretch (e.g., beyond square 90), you must hold out your joined hands. Other players get to gently "slap" your hands, simulating a "hazard penalty."
- Winning the Game: You must land exactly on the 100th square to win. If your roll is higher than needed, your counter moves to 100 and then "bounces back" the remaining number of spaces.
